Top 2 Reasons For Failure In Leadership

There are 2 top reasons for failure in leadership as exampled in Napoleon Hill's Book titled "Think and Grow Rich." The first reason is an inability to organize details and the second reason is an unwillingness to render humble service.
When you are thinking about a leader you like to think about the positives of the leader, the things that make the leader great. However, as you get closer to the leader and start to actually "follow" the leader this is when the weaknesses come out. Every leader has a weakness because no person is perfect. By design we are imperfect.
However, what we are looking at today is not imperfection but rather reasons why there would be a failure in leadership.

Emotions: The Fullness of Your Experience

"You can feel bad if it makes you feel better." (lyrics from a country song)
In an earlier article I talked about how emotions can be indicators of something that needs to be dealt with. But in some cases, emotions are not indicating something that needs to be addressed, but rather are highlighting an experience that you're having and are fully present to.
A very important friend of mine is moving away, to the east coast to live at the beach (her lifelong dream). Last night we had a "farewell/launch" dinner for her, and when we embraced to say goodbye, we both were sad and crying.

New Woman: Letting Go of The Past

One Saturday afternoon the television was tuned to a video marathon of R & B tunes from the mid 1980s and early 1990s. Just the backdrop I love, as I put some TLC in my home. As I swept, mopped and dusted, I crooned out the lyrics to songs from artists, such as Anita Baker, Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendergrass. Memories began to flood my mind. Howard University 1985: Club Philly meeting about South Africa Apartheid; February 1989: at my father's bedside in his last moments; September 1992, my baby girl is born.
